Les chaînes de la TNT française en Angleterre ?

Excellente idée, j’ai appris l’Anglais en regardant la TV donc je recommande cette méthode. Le seul inconvénient c’est que l’on apprend pas à parler mais ça viens après

Les émetteurs Français ayant une chance à Poole sont peut être ceux de Caen (Mont Pinçon – 25 Kw) ou Cherbourg (Digosville 5 Kw) à condition bien sur que les canaux concernés soient libres de l’autre cote de la Manche.

Je ne connais pas Cherbourg, mais Poole la plage était une destination favorite quand j’habitais à Coventry.

If you haven't already done so, I would suggest that you keep an eye on similar topics on the Digital Spy forums (in particular the one dealing with terrestrial digital - http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/forums/foru ... .php?f=156). I just did a search on "France" and saw that there were some threads about receiving TNT in Ramsgate and Folkestone (which I appreciate are a fair distance from Poole...).

As for a set top box, you should be OK with one bought in the UK. Sensitivity of the box may be critical to receive signals at the sort of distance you are considering but there's no easy way to check that. Folk on the above forum may be able to help though. Early UK digital boxes were not compatible with the French TNT (as I learnt to my cost!) but that should not be an issue now.

So, I don't need to buy a new set-top box, I can simply use my current one (for Freeview)? But I need to scan for the channels? That Digital Spy link was very helpful, Pollux.

I bought it about two years ago (in June 2005). Now, I'm not sure if it's suitable, but after having manually scanned the box (on UHF channel 52, as someone on Digital Spy recommended), I couldn't find any signal.

So, the next thing I need to do, in order to receive the channels, is improve the signal my antenna receives, right? Then I should be able to get French TV...

Yes your Goodmans receiver is fine, I didn’t realise you’d already have one!
You need a good boosted aerial pointing South and try the Cherbourg Digosville (5Kwatt) transmitter

You stand more chance to get something than anyone on the East coast since Northern France (Lille and around) tranmissions have not yet started in DTT because of lengthy agreement seeking with Belgium Holland an the UK.

Of course any local transmitter to you might be a hindrance if using same or neighbouring frequencies.

parce que les dix huit chaines française de la tnt sont nulle par rapport a té chaines anglaise

You can also receive French TV by satellite with a dish...
What channels did you want to watch? (News , Music , entertainment , cultural , ...)

???? à part la reprise des chaines tnt sur un bouquet commercial
le TNTSAT par satellite tu ne peux pas recevoir la TNT terrestre
aussi loin de la France qui n'est déjà pas suffisament couverte elle même !
